Each event in Slayte has a Status that controls who can access it and what actions are available. Updating the status allows administrators to manage the event’s lifecycle, from initial setup to preparation, publishing, and going live. Choosing the correct status ensures that only the right users can access the event at the right time.
Changing the Event Status
- From the Home page, select Events from the tile or the left navigation panel.

- Select the event you want to update.
- Click General from the event menu.

- Scroll down to the Status section.
The default status will be listed as Planning (Initial).
- Click in the field to change the status.

- After selecting the appropriate status, scroll down and click Save to apply the change.
Event Status Options
Each status option serves a different purpose:
- Planning (Initial): Only administrators can access the event. Use this status while setting up sessions, pages, and configuration before inviting others.
- Preparation (for Speakers & Companies): Accessible to administrators, companies (exhibitors/sponsors), and assigned speakers. Use this status when you want contributors to log in, review, and make updates to their sessions or company pages.
- Published: The event becomes visible to all participants with the event link. Attendees can view event content but cannot yet interact with each other. This is helpful for pre-event previews or early access.
- Live: The event is fully open to all participants, including networking and engagement features. This status should be selected once the event officially begins.
