Configure Attendance of Sessions

Attendance tracking can be configured so that participants must remain in a session for a set amount of time before they are marked as attended. This feature is especially useful when the event is awarding education credits and needs to ensure that participants meet minimum attendance requirements. By setting either a time threshold or a percentage threshold, administrators can enforce attendance rules consistently across sessions.


Configuring Attendance Thresholds

  1. From the Home page, select the Events module.
  2. Navigate to the desired event and open the Sessions area.

  3. Select the session you want to configure and click on it to open the Session Detail view.

  4. Scroll down to the Attendance section and enable Mark attended above threshold (duration).
  • Slide the toggle to enable duration-based attendance tracking.
  • Enter the number of minutes an attendee must be present in the session to be marked as attended.
  • Optional – Override threshold (75%): By default, the system uses 75% of the session duration as the attendance requirement.
    If you want to set a custom value, enable the override option and manually enter a new percentage under Threshold (Percentage %).
  1. When finished, click Save on the Session Detail page to apply your changes.

When to Use

This feature is most commonly used with the Education Credit module, where strict attendance criteria must be met for attendees to claim credits. It ensures that credit is awarded only to participants who meet the configured duration or percentage threshold for the session.
