Mobile App Networking Features for Events

Mobile App Networking Features for Events

The event's mobile  app makes it easy to meet new people; whether you are searching for a speaker, chatting with fellow attendees, or setting up a private meeting, every networking tool is just a tap away.
Use the steps below to explore each feature and start forging valuable connections.

Most networking actions live in one of two places: the Network and Chat icons in the bottom navigation row.
Follow the guides in each section to get comfortable with both.

Search and Quick Profile Lookup

At the top of the app the Search bar allows you to look for other attendees you would like to connect, speakers you are interested in learning more and network with or even companies participating in the event that you would like to contact.

To searh a user please follow these steps:
  1. Tap the search bar at the top of the event home page.
  2. Enter a name either for a speaker, attendee, exhibitor or sponsor to see matching results
  3. Matching results in Sessions, Speakers, Attendees, Exhibitors and Sponsors will be shown, if you would like to filter by type, simply tap the tye of result you are looking for from the list below the search bar.
  4. Once you have found the user you are looking for, select the result to open that persons's profile; their profile will show their photo, name, title, company, a short bio and any sessions where they are presenting.

If you are ready to connect with this person at the top right corner you will see two options:
  1. Private Meeting: Use this option to set up a new private meeting with this user; to learn more about this feature please visit our article here: Private Meetings
  2. Add Connection: Use the “Add Connection” icon to send a connection request; you will be asked to include a message with your invitation, this is optional but we recommended if you would like to use it for a great first impression. Once the request is sent the button will change to show a "Connection Pending" message; additionally you can tap the 3 dot button to withdraw the connection request.

Best Practices

    • Add a brief, friendly note when sending connection requests; concise introductions improve acceptance rates.
    • Download your contacts after the event so you can follow up with users you were not able to chat while the event was live.
    • Mute busy chats rather than leaving them; you can return later without losing context.
