Add Polls and Q&A to your Event and Sessions

Add Polls and Q&A to your Event and Sessions

Within the Events, you have the option to set Q&A and polls by connecting it with conferences.io.
This integration makes it simple for attendees to join the conversation, whether you place the link on a public event page or directly inside each session. No extra searching, just one click to participate.

The setup is straightforward and happens in two steps. First, export your session details from Slayte and import them into conferences.io to create or update the sessions there. Then, copy the unique Session Direct URL from conferences.io and add it back into Slayte so attendees can access it exactly where you want them to.

Prerequisites

Required: An existing Slayte event with scheduled sessions and an active conferences.io workspace with permission to import sessions.

Export Sessions from Slayte

  1. From the Slayte Home page, go to Events and open your event.
  2. In the left panel, select the Sessions tab.
  3. Click the Export icon and choose Export Sessions to CSV.

The export can include core fields such as Start Date, End Date, Title, and Speakers (include any additional fields your conferences.io template expects).

Import into conferences.io

  1. In conferences.io, open Import Sessions.
  2. Select the CSV you exported from Slayte and click Upload.

After importing, ensure each session in conferences.io has a Session Direct URL. If you maintain a “details” or “instructions” field in conferences.io, use a Textarea type with Rich Text Editing enabled so you can store or display the Session Direct URL cleanly for later use in Slayte.

Display in Slayte (Event Page or Session)

Decide where attendees should access conferences.io. You may place the Session Direct URL on a general event page or inside the relevant session.

Option A: Event Page

  1. In your Slayte event, create or open the target Page.
  2. Click Add Page

  3. In the page editor, paste the conferences.io Session Direct URL as a hyperlink, or use the editor’s embed option if available.

  4. Click Save.

Option B: Session-Level Access

  1. Open Sessions and edit the session where you want to offer direct access.
  2. In the Description or another rich text field, insert the conferences.io Session Direct URL as a hyperlink, or embed it using the editor’s embed option.

  3. Click Save.

Tips and Notes

  • Field mapping: When importing into conferences.io, confirm that the CSV columns match the expected field names so sessions align correctly.
  • Testing: Before publishing, open the embedded link from an attendee's view to verify that the correct conferences.io session loads.
  • Consistency: If you plan to embed links inside sessions, keep the placement consistent across all sessions so attendees know where to find Q&A and polls.
